Here is a great story about a very “Green” development in Daytona Beach. It sounds like the developer is doing what they can to hit a growing niche market in the second home and retiree market.

However, according to this article, one of the main reasons is prices have dropped, sometimes by 50%. This is igniting the increase of number of sales, but lowering the average price. I guess it is pretty easy to assume there was a lot of fluff in the pricing before.
According to this article in Bloomberg, New York’s renowned Hamptons has turned in the highest quarterly statistics in over two years. It is believed that one of the reasons for this increase is the stock market recovery. Another possible ignition is the increase in finance jobs. No matter what the reason, it is good to see it happen.
